Job summary

Hotchkiss Insurance in Texas is seeking a Benefit Advocate to serve as the first point of contact for employees and HR partners, helping them understand and navigate benefits. You will manage eligibility, billing, and claims inquiries in collaboration with account teams.

This hybrid role requires 2+ years in group benefits, a Texas Life & Health license or ability to obtain it, and strong MS Office skills. You’ll build client relationships and support compliance while contributing to employee

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience in Group Benefits on agency or carrier side.
• Texas Life & Health License required or must obtain after employment.
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Foundational MS Office skills and comfort with technology.
• Ability to work independently and build strong client relationships.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage dedicated service inboxes, triage inquiries, and escalate as needed.
• Liaise with carriers, TPAs, and vendors to resolve issues promptly.
• Audit eligibility updates and QLEs for new hires/terminations.
• Maintain access and portal setups with partners and vendors.
• Support compliance deliverables and client documentation requests.

Position Summary

The Benefit Advocate is the first point of contact for employees and HR partners, serving as a trusted resource to help them understand, use, and navigate their employee benefits. Working closely with Account Executives, Account Managers, and Account Associates, the Benefit Advocate manages eligibility, billing, and claims inquiries, and provides day-to-day support and education that drives employee satisfaction and client retention.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage dedicated service inboxes (e.g., Premium accounts), triaging and resolving inquiries within service standards, escalating to the Account Management Team when needed.
• Liaise with carriers, TPAs, and vendors to troubleshoot issues and ensure resolution in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
• Conduct regular audits (e.g., weekly Employee Navigator checks) to identify and resolve missing information or discrepancies.
• Maintain access and portal setups with carriers, TPAs, and vendors.
• Process and oversee eligibility updates: new hires, terminations, address changes, COBRA updates, and Qualified Life Events (QLEs).
• Support Account Managers with compliance deliverables and client documentation requests (e.g., 90-Day/Keating forms).

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 2 years experience in Group Benefits working on the agency side or the carrier side, or comparable experience preferred.
• Texas Life & Health License is required or must obtain after employment.
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• A foundational understanding of Microsoft Office; comfortable with modern technology
• Must be able to work independently and build strong client and company relationships.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
