Job summary

The Hilb Group in Farmington, CT, seeks an organized renewal specialist to lead client renewal cycles, collaborate with brokers on trends, and prepare polished renewal proposals. You will market renewals with benefits analysts, review proposals for accuracy, and ensure timely documentation to carriers.

This role requires strong communication with employers, employees, and vendors. You will manage enrollment workflows, maintain client data across platforms, and contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered.
  • 2–4 years of professional office experience required; benefits, HR, or client service background preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Confident and professional in verbal and written client communication.
  • Highly organized, process-driven, and capable of managing multiple deliverables.
  • Able to work independently while collaborating with the team.
  • Must obtain Accident, Health & Life Producer’s License within 90 days of hire and maintain CE requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the operational lead for each client's renewal cycle, ensuring activities are completed proactively, accurately, and on schedule.
  • Collaborate with brokers to assess client trends, identify issues, and surface opportunities for enhanced solutions or cross-selling.
  • Partner with benefits analysts to market renewals, evaluate carrier options, and prepare polished proposals.
  • Review proposals thoroughly for accuracy and clarity.
  • Assist in preparing materials and summaries for renewal meetings and support brokers during delivery.
  • Communicate updates, recommendations, and next steps clearly to clients.
  • Confirm renewal decisions and ensure documentation is submitted to carriers.
  • Complete renewal close-out tasks within established timelines and escalate roadblocks.
  • Maintain client data in BenefitPoint, ImageRight, SharePoint, Employee Navigator, and related systems.
  • Document activity to ensure transparency and continuity for the team.
  • Manage open enrollment workflows, recertifications, and other client deliverables on time.
  • Support process improvements and standardization to drive efficiency.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for day-to-day client service needs, including eligibility questions and enrollment changes.
  • Troubleshoot issues and provide professional, responsive communication to employers, employees, carriers, and vendors.
  • Ensure client-facing communication is clear, accurate, and timely.
  • Maintain strong relationships with brokers, analysts, national practice teams, and carriers.
  • Communicate proactively to keep stakeholders aligned and projects moving forward.
  • Provide information about compliance resources, HR support, Medicare guidance, and webinars.

  • Document all activity thoroughly to ensure transparency and continuity for the entire team.
  • Manage open enrollment workflows, recertifications, and other client deliverables in a timely and organized manner.
  • Support ongoing process improvements and standardization to drive efficiency.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for day‑to‑day client service needs, including eligibility questions, enrollment changes, claims resolution, and benefit inquiries.
  • Troubleshoot issues efficiently and escape when necessary.
  • Provide warm, professional, responsive communication to employers, employees, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure all client‑facing communication is clear, accurate, and timely.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with brokers, analysts, national practice teams, and carriers.
  • Communicate proactively to keep all stakeholders aligned and projects moving forward.
  • Ensure clients receive information about compliance resources, HR support, Medicare guidance, and webinars available through the national practice teams.
  • Participate in team discussions, best‑practice sharing, and collective problem‑solving.
