Job summary

USI Insurance Services in Phoenix is seeking an experienced benefits administrator to coordinate day-to-day client service, renewals, and carrier communications. The role supports internal staff and brokers, ensuring accurate data, timely responses, and alignment with carrier requirements.

The successful candidate will mentor staff, assist with quoting and onboarding, and maintain client databases and case files. Strong organizational skills and proficiency in MS Office are essential.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of employee benefits experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Health and Ancillary plans, carriers, and quoting.
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with training Brokers.
  • Communicate with management and team on administration aspects.
  • Coordinate with internal team to meet service and turnaround standards.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with carriers and internal staff.

General Description

Responsible for coordination of day-to-day customer service and supporting internal service team. Ensure new business, renewals, and broker of record letters meet the requirements of the writing carrier. Act as a liaison between the insurance carrier and internal staff.

Responsibilities
  • Mentor internal staff on products and processes. Assist with onboarding of new team members.
  • Assist with quoting renewal alternatives and new business.
  • Provide internal staff with follow-up communication. Includes approvals for Brokers on plan changes and open enrollment issues.
  • Provide renewals to appropriate Brokers.
  • Respond to carriers, internal staff, and/or broker questions. Assist with claims and billing problems.
  • Update client database on an ongoing basis. Create and maintain case files of critical client information based on implemented workflows.
  • Assist with training Brokers.
  • Communicate regularly with management and team members on all aspects of administration.
  • Coordinate with internal team to ensure service and turn-around times meet Emerson Rogers standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with carriers and internal staff.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • 3+ years of employee benefits experience. Prior experience in a group benefits environment preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED degree required. Bachelor’s degree a plus.
  • Knowledge of Health and Ancillary plans, carriers, and quoting abilities preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail. Efficient and accurate administrative and data entry skills.
  • Ability to set priorities and manage deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel. Includes experience with formatting and formulas.
