Job summary

Crawford Thomas Recruiting is seeking an experienced Benefits Account Manager for a remote role. You will act as the primary day-to-day contact for assigned clients and manage employee benefits programs from implementation through ongoing account management.

The position focuses on open enrollment, client relationships, and coordinating with employers, carriers, vendors, and internal teams to deliver a seamless benefits experience.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in employee benefits, health insurance, benefits consulting, or a related field.
  • Client-facing account management experience within the benefits/insurance industry.
  • Experience conducting or participating in open enrollment meetings and employee benefit presentations.
  • Experience onboarding and implementing new benefits clients.
  • Strong understanding of employee benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and ancillary products.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple client accounts and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Comfortable presenting information to groups and communicating with employees and company leadership.
  • Strong problem-solving and customer-service skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.

Responsibilities

  • Remotely manage relationships with assigned clients as the primary contact.
  • Lead open enrollment meetings, presentations, employee communications, and enrollment materials.
  • Explain benefit plans, changes, and enrollment processes to employees and leadership.
  • Manage new client onboarding and implementation, including timelines, documentation, and carrier requirements.
  • Coordinate with insurance carriers, third-party administrators, payroll providers, and vendors to resolve issues.
  • Assist with plan changes, renewals, eligibility, and employee enrollment matters.
  • Prepare client-facing benefit summaries, renewal information, and enrollment materials.
  • Monitor account activity, deadlines, and deliverables.
  • Assist with annual renewals and communicate plan changes and recommendations.
  • Address employee questions and troubleshoot benefits issues when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate client records and documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the client experience and strengthen relationships.
  • Manage multiple accounts and competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Partner with internal teams to provide a seamless client experience.

This is a virtual client-facing role focused on client relationships, new account implementation, open enrollment, benefits presentations, and coordinating with employers, employees, carriers, vendors, and internal teams.

What You’ll Do

Job Requirements

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with a benefits consulting firm, brokerage, or insurance agency
  • Life & Health insurance license preferred
  • Experience with benefits administration platforms or enrollment systems
  • Experience managing mid-sized employer groups
  • Knowledge of ACA compliance and other employee benefits regulations
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary ranges from $60,000 to over $100,000
