Job summary

  • Preferred: Four years of unemployment insurance benefits experience.
  • Preferred: Two years of experience determining program eligibility.
  • Preferred: Two years of experience filing civil actions to collect debt.
  • Preferred: One year of experience processing and rendering benefit overpayment determinations.

Responsibilities

  • Review unemployment insurance fraudulent and non-fraudulent claimant overpayment cases for compliance with applicable program regulations.
  • Gather pertinent documents and evidence to support cases.
  • Analyze findings and determine whether evidence is sufficient to support prosecution.
  • Assist in preparing cases for collection, criminal prosecution, or civil action.
  • Testify as necessary in administrative hearings or court proceedings.
  • Negotiate and monitor repayment agreements with non-fraudulent claimants.
  • Proceed with court action upon repayment default.
