Job summary

Le Méridien Chicago - Oakbrook Center, operated by Crescent Hotels & Resorts, is seeking Bell Persons/Valet Persons to welcome guests and assist with luggage, directions, and hotel services in Oak Brook, IL.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, maintaining the lobby area, and assisting with front desk tasks. A valid driver’s license, ability to drive a manual, and 6 months of guest-facing experience are required. Growth opportunities and benefits accompany this role.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of guest/customer facing experience.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with no violations.
• Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Escort guests to rooms and assist with luggage.
• Explain hotel facilities, location, hours of operation, and answer questions.
• Check luggage for day/overnight guests and maintain lobby areas.
• Open doors and greet guests courteously; keep bell stand and baggage area clean.
• Post daily events boards in the lobby and communicate across shifts.
• Deliver messages and assist with front desk duties as needed.

What will you be doing?

• Show guests to room assisting them with their luggage.
• Explain all hotel facilities, their location in the hotel, hours of operation, and answer all questions about these facilities and other hotel questions.
• Check luggage for hotel guests both for day and overnight.
• Maintain the designated station in the lobby, standing alert to be easily summoned
• Open doors and greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the bell stand, lobby and baggage area. Keep lobby door and windows clean when not busy with guests.
• Post the daily events board and entertainment board in the lobby.
• Maintain an open communication line through all shifts.
• Deliver messages and valet to guest rooms.
• Perform pickups and drop-offs for the guests in a timely and friendly manner and inspect vehicles.
• May perform the duties of a valet as required.
• Assist front desk with key inventory.
• Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular

Position requires at least 6 months of previous guest/customer face-to face experience.
