Job description

Job Summary

Responsible for all guest service functions, including driving courtesy vehicles on surface streets and freeways. Also responsible for maintaining the bell station, greeting guests, handling guest luggage, providing directions, assisting the front desk in answering phones, and delivering items to guest rooms.

Essential Job Functions

1. Drive guests between airport and hotel and the local area, obeying all traffic laws for safety.
2. Open & close vehicle doors for guests.
3. Check guest luggage for both day and overnight visits.
4. Assist guests with storing and retrieving luggage, including from vehicles.
5. Use bell carts to transfer luggage and packages to and from rooms, vehicles, and loading areas.
6. Run hotel errands as instructed by management.
7. Maintain and clean the lobby station and baggage room.
8. Keep the lobby area and hotel exterior/interior neat and clean.
9. Greet and welcome guests, standing by to assist.
10. Provide travel directions and recommendations for local attractions, restaurants, and services.
11. Answer phones to assist PBX/guest calls.
12. Restock supplies at the front desk and business center.
13. Clean and inspect hotel vehicles, maintain cleanliness, pump gas, and perform oil changes.
14. Complete vehicle mileage reports.
15. Report emergencies, accidents, injuries, missing articles, damage, mechanical issues, and hazards promptly.
16. Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.
17. Adhere to hotel taxi stand requirements and agreements.
18. Follow all company policies, safety, and security procedures.
19. Know fire prevention and emergency procedures.
20. Use protective equipment and report unsafe conditions.
21. Report accidents, injuries, property damage, or loss.
22. Assist other Front Desk personnel as needed.
23. Perform any related duties as requested by supervisors.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

The hotel may consider an acceptable combination of education and experience to demonstrate these abilities.

• Valid Class B license required.
• Professional, positive attitude in communication.
• Knowledge of hotel operations and local area.
• Ability to obey traffic laws and regulations.
• Proficient in operating computers, printers, copiers, and telephones.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a cheerful demeanor.

Physical Demands

• Physical work inside and outside the hotel and vehicles.
• Exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, fumes, and noises.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Requires good vision, with or without corrective lenses, and frequent physical movement including twisting, bending, reaching, standing, walking, and smiling.
