Overview

Job Summary: The Lead Shuttle Driver trains, coaches, and dispatches other shuttle drivers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must possess a valid, unexpired driver's license
  • No high school diploma, GED, or college degree required
  • No experience required; on-the-job training provided
  • This role may require a CDL with specific class and endorsement requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Six (6) months of prior shuttle driving experience

Responsibilities:

  • Direct traffic, position barricades, and arrange for towing services when necessary
  • Use all personal protective equipment at all times
  • Protect the safety of self, co-workers, and passengers
  • Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations promptly
  • Transport, load, and unload passengers at designated locations
  • Ensure safe loading/unloading, including handling specialized equipment for passengers with needs (e.g., wheelchair lifts)
  • Assist passengers with luggage as needed
  • Inspect vehicles regularly for safety and maintenance issues; perform routine cleaning and maintenance activities
  • Meet patrons needing assistance at airport locations and lots
  • Inspect shuttles for preexisting damage and record information
  • Provide excellent customer service; respond courteously to inquiries and give directions
  • Report safety incidents immediately following procedures
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain and enforce bus evacuation plans and coordinate evacuation activities
  • Report incidents or claims promptly
  • Refuel and maintain shuttle equipment; keep fuel logs
  • Keep work environment clean and disinfect shuttle after use
  • Perform pre- and post-inspections to ensure proper operation and safety compliance

This role is suitable for individuals entering or re-entering the workforce with limited experience and education. ABM is veteran-friendly; veterans and military experience candidates are encouraged to apply. Military Occupational Specialty Codes include 88M, LS, 3531, 3537, 2T1X1.
