Job summary

Learn Academy, a K–12 private day school in Phoenix, is seeking staff for instructional support for students with special needs. Roles involve direct support, data collection, and collaboration with licensed staff to implement behavioral plans.

Candidates with a high school diploma or higher, and 1–2 years in related settings, are encouraged to apply. Training and mentorship are provided, with opportunities for certification and professional growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
• 1–2 years’ experience with children in a special needs education setting preferred but not required.
• Ability to collaborate and receive feedback from peers and supervisors.
• Demonstrated experience maintaining a professional, clinical perspective with students' behaviors.
• Experience using Crisis Management Interventions (CPI) or safe holds is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instructional support to individual and/or groups of students.
• Collect data regarding student progress as directed by licensed staff.
• Assist staff in maintaining charts and other records related to student progress.
• Reinforce academic behaviors taught by licensed staff.
• Assist student in community, recreational, school, and leisure activities under supervision.
• Implement district-approved techniques for verbal de-escalation and safe physical restraint (CPI).
• Perform other related duties as assigned by administration and licensed staff.
