Job summary

Friends of Switchpoint is seeking a Behavior Tech to support residents during their stay at the facility. The role covers weekends (Saturday and Sunday), 7 am to 3 pm, on-site, with a starting wage of $19 per hour.

Responsibilities include documenting incidents, assisting residents with classes or events, and maintaining daily logs. Tasks include light housekeeping, security checks, logging expenditures, and coordinating with management to meet residents’ needs, including ADA accommodations.

Qualifications

• Provide exceptional customer service to all residents of the facility.
• Ability to de-escalate tense situations and communicate clearly.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience working with individuals facing homelessness and mental health challenges.

Responsibilities

• Understand and implement Switchpoint’s mission and values, and follow policies.
• Provide exceptional customer service to residents.
• Keep a daily log of occurrences during each shift.
• Note special needs (diet, ADA) and coordinate with management.
• Update maintenance and resident logs, and coordinate with staff.
• Listen to residents and address needs reasonably.
• Reconcile petty cash and daily expenditures.
• Report concerns to leadership and manage safety logs.
• Demonstrate customer service passion in interactions.
• Laundry and simple cleaning tasks.
• Monitor cameras and log activity.
• Conduct perimeter checks and document concerns.
• Handle security issues by calling dispatch or 911 if needed.
• May lift up to 50 lbs periodically.
