Job summary

Alternatives, Inc. in South Bound Brook, NJ is hiring a part-time Behavior Technician to support adults with developmental disabilities in a residential setting. The role includes assisting with daily living activities, administering medications, and ensuring safety and comfort for residents.

You will implement behavioral plans, teach new skills, and encourage community involvement while documenting progress and reporting concerns. Training is paid, with benefits and weekend shift opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Pass criminal/registry background checks and a drug screen.
• Clear TB screening.
• Ability to pass trainings such as CPR/First Aid, medication administration, and positive behavioral support.
• Basic computer skills.
• Experience with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including medication administration, meals, personal hygiene and transportation.
• Implement individual behavioral plans and teach new skills to residents.
• Encourage participation in community outings and recreational activities.
• Report health and safety concerns and maintain accurate documentation.
