Wilkes County Schools seeks a Behavioral Specialist to support district-wide efforts to improve student behavior and implement functional behavior plans. The role involves collaboration with teachers, administrators, and IEP teams to tailor interventions and track progress across schools.

The candidate will conduct functional behavioral assessments, develop comprehensive behavior plans, and provide professional development on behavior management.

Formación

• Requires Master’s Degree in a related field and a Valid Teaching Certificate.
• Deep understanding of federal and state special education laws and inclusive education.

Responsabilidades

• Works with teachers to assess and improve student behavior.
• Provides functional behavioral assessments when appropriate.
• Develops and facilitates the implementation of functional behavior plans.
• Facilitates the development of behavior modification plans.
• Provides home/school behavior intervention support models.
• Provides staff development focusing on students with difficult behaviors and related topics.
• Consults with IEP teams as requested.
• Supports paraprofessionals assigned to students with difficult behaviors.
• Completes random moment in time studies as required by MAC program guidelines.
