Job summary

Maxim Healthcare is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide care for individuals with intellectual disabilities in their homes and communities. The position offers weekly pay, health/dental/vision, a 401(k), PTO, and other Maxim benefits.

Responsibilities include ensuring health and safety, supporting independent living skills, documenting progress, and promoting person-centered care with crisis prevention and reporting as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write proficiently in English.
• Current CPR card is required.
• Health screening in accordance with state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure client's health, wellness and safety.
• Encourage goals related to independent living and daily living skills.
• Crisis prevention and intervention.
• Promote advocacy and individual rights.
• Maintain detailed documentation on client status and progress.
• Implement behavior support plan strategies as applied to the individual.
• Report suspected abuse, neglect, and exploitation immediately.
• Use prompting, instruction, modeling, and reinforcement for person-centered services.
• Promote independence in daily living, work/volunteer, learning, and leisure.
• Provide transportation as needed.
• Complete required annual trainings to maintain certifications.
