Job summary

Anaheim Union High School District is seeking an Instructional Assistant-Behavioral Support to work under supervision with a classroom teacher and specialists. The role focuses on students with emotional disturbance, ASD, or intellectual disabilities who exhibit aggressive behaviors.

You will use de-escalation techniques, implement supportive interventions, and maintain safety in the learning environment. Ideal candidates bring knowledge of behavior management, experience with special needs

Qualifications

• No Child Left Behind Act standards apply; graduation from high school or equivalent required.
• Two years of college coursework or an Associate degree preferred; related coursework is advantageous.
• Experience with special needs students and challenging behaviors is highly desirable.
• CPR/First Aid certification and ProACT training are required during employment.

Responsibilities

• Administers behavior management techniques for students with emotional disturbance, ASD, or intellectual disabilities.
• Uses de-escalation techniques and controls stimuli in the learning environment.
• Implements supportive interventions and documents daily observations and progress.
• Collaborates with teachers, specialists, and staff to support students’ safety and learning.
