Job summary

Lane Education Service District is seeking an Instructional Assistant for Lane School in Lane County, Oregon. The position supports licensed teachers in delivering instruction to students with emotional/behavioral disorders.

The role involves data collection, implementing behavior plans, and coordinating with staff to ensure student success. Hours are 7.25 per day (0.90625 FTE) with a 182–187 day calendar, and benefits include medical, dental, vision, and retirement (PERS).

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• First Aid/CPR card preferred.
• Experience working in a public school or community setting with at‑risk students or students with emotional/behavioral disorders is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher in planning and implementing instructional activities.
• Implement instructional strategies that promote skill development and independence.
• Collect data as instructed by classroom teacher and provide feedback on student performance.
• Establish and maintain positive rapport with students.
• Assist in monitoring classroom management according to district procedures.
• Implement behavior support plans as specified in the student’s plan.
• Supervise students to ensure safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of information about students and staff.
• Prepare and organize materials to support teaching and learning.
• Be a cooperative and supportive member of staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Complete all job activities in compliance with district policy.
