Job summary

Lane Education Service District is seeking Substitute Instructional Assistants to support licensed teachers across Lane County, including Eugene, Springfield, Creswell and Cottage Grove. You will work in classrooms to implement instructional and behavioural plans for students with moderate to severe disabilities.

Role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, strong communication skills with staff and students, and the ability to follow written plans.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students and school staff is required.
• The ability to follow teacher direction, including written instructional and behaviour plans is required.
• Experience working in a public school or community setting with students with moderate disabilities, including use of alternative means of communication is preferred.
• First Aid/CPR card is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist a licensed teacher under supervision.
• Support the implementation of instructional and behavioural plans designed for students with disabilities.
• Assist with activities of daily living and other classroom tasks as directed.
