Job summary

Eliot Community Human Services, Inc. seeks a compassionate Behavioral Specialist II to join the Adult Community Clinical Service (ACCS) team.

You will work with adults with severe mental illness, providing interventions, rehabilitation supports, and person-centered care in residential or community settings. Responsibilities include compassionate client interventions, ongoing assessments, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice or related field.
• Experience working with adults with mental illness.

Responsibilities

• Provide interventions to clients that focus on problem solving, modeling behavior, optimism and encouragement.
• Assist the team in providing on-going assessments of client symptoms and their responses to staff interventions.
• Support clients in their desire for recovery and rehabilitation in the development of their goals.
• Ensure that services provided are culturally competent, strengths based, and focused on rehabilitation and are inclusive of client preferences.
• Provide assistance to clients related to transportation to work sites, daily activities, and appointments.
• Assist with the administration of prescribed medications, as needed.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice or related field
