Job summary

Marana Unified School District seeks a dedicated assistant to support at‑risk students with structured, accountable behavioral and academic help. You will collaborate with parents and teachers to set consistent expectations and may assist with IEP documentation.

The role involves tutoring, small-group instruction, and administrative tasks, with a focus on creating a safe learning environment and tracking progress. This is a 9‑month, onsite position in Marana, AZ.

Qualifications

• Experience working with at-risk students and creating appropriate programs.
• Exceptional communication with students and parents.
• Patient, positive, proactive attitude when dealing with challenges.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work with staff and families.

Responsibilities

• Work with students, teachers and specialists to implement intervention plans.
• Provide a safe environment for students in emotional crisis.
• Offer tutoring/remediation one-on-one or in small groups under supervision.
• Perform administrative duties as assigned (typing, filing, data entry, scheduling).
• Assist with IEP paperwork and behavior monitoring as needed.
• Maintain records and assist with Medicaid billings.
• Support students with organization, events, and related tasks.
• Contribute to classroom activities and ensure orderly centers.
