Job summary

Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents is seeking a full-time Behavior Specialist for the 2026-27 school year, to support students’ mental health and behavioral needs. The role focuses on implementing behavior support plans, data collection, and collaboration with school staff to promote inclusive, socially-emotional learning and academic achievement.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, BCBA/BCaBA preferred, and RBT certification within 90 days of employment;

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, social work or related field preferred.
  • BCBA/BCaBA credential preferred.
  • RBT certification required within 90 days of employment.
  • Minimum of two years experience in direct student behavior support and/or supporting educational teams preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implements and supports behavior plans for students.
  • Develops behavior plans and supports staff in implementation.
  • Helps teachers implement evidence-based behavior strategies in the classroom.
  • Collaborates with staff to promote an inclusive climate and student success.
  • Works with students needing behavior support and supports teachers.
  • Assists Education Director with data collection, analysis and timely reporting.
  • Conducts preference assessments directly with students.
  • Models effective behavioral and instructional programming in classroom.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
