Job summary

Albanyschools seeks a Behavior Specialist - TOAST to join our full-time APSTA opportunity. The role focuses on MTSS/BIS/RTI practices, developing and monitoring behavior programs, and collaborating with district staff to support students with diverse behavioral needs.

The successful candidate will hold a NYS certificate in one of the listed roles, bring experience with functional assessments, and provide coaching to teachers while collecting district-wide data to inform practices.

Qualifications

• Valid NYS certification in one of the listed roles is required.
• BCBA or coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis preferred.
• Strong knowledge of PBIS/RtI/MTSS.
• Experience with students with psychiatric/behavioral disorders.
• Experience developing Functional Behavioral Assessments and positive behavioral supports.
• Experience collaborating with staff and administrators on interventions.

Responsibilities

• Provides consultation regarding best practices of MTSS.
• Assists with development and implementation of district policies and procedures.
• Consults on behavior management, education and assessment of behavioral needs.
• Designs, implements and monitors behavior programs for students.
• Prepares written reports for district and external professionals re: behavioral concerns.
• Conducts classroom observations to support behavior related management and instruction.
• Conducts functional behavioral assessments and designs/monitors intervention plans.
• Serves as a member of the CSE for students with behavioral concerns.
• Provides teacher coaching and support related to classroom management.
• Collects and analyzes data to inform behavioral practices district-wide.
• Other duties as assigned.
