Job summary

Shady Grove Medical Center seeks an experienced Psychiatric Unit Support Coordinator to support patient care and department operations within Adventist HealthCare. You will coordinate services, escort patients, and contribute to throughput and communication between units, while maintaining safety and service excellence.

Qualifications include CPI and BLS certification, a High School diploma or GED, 1–2 years in healthcare, and strong communication, organization, and prioritization skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting (preferred).
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology required.
• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service experience required.
• Ability to prioritize effectively required.
• CPI Certification required.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with internal and external customers in a manner consistent with AHC Values/Standards of Behavior.
• Provides exceptional customer service and uses de-escalation techniques as appropriate.
• Stays knowledgeable and precise in coordination of services.
• Provides resources needed for the department to function efficiently.
• Seeks proactive solutions in problem solving.
• Participates in improving work flow, patient throughput, and inter-unit communication.
• Participates in supply chain management and equipment maintenance process.
• Escorts patients to ED, cafeteria, gym, or off-campus appointments as needed; assists with visitation.
• Rounds on patients at least every 15 minutes and documents per policy.
