Adventist HealthCare seeks a Psychiatric Unit Support Coordinator to support the Shady Grove Medical Center Behavioral Health unit. The role emphasizes compassionate service, smooth coordination of patient flow, and adherence to safety and visitation policies.

Responsibilities include de-escalation, patient escorting, and cross-unit collaboration to ensure efficient operations while maintaining high patient care standards. This is a full-time, day-shift role with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting (preferred).
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology required.
• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service experience required.
• Crisis Prevention Institute Certification required.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with internal and external customers in person or by phone.
• Provides exceptional customer service, acknowledges concerns, and uses de-escalation techniques as trained.
• Stays knowledgeable and precise in coordination of services.
• Provides resources needed for the department to function efficiently.
• Seeks proactive solutions and improves workflow and patient throughput.
• Participates in supply chain management and equipment maintenance.
• Escorts patients to departments or off-campus appointments as needed and assists with visitation.
• Rounds on patients at least every 15 minutes and documents per policy.
