Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, plus one year of experience in training, teaching, or working with developmentally disabled clients.
• Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience providing the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
• Official transcripts may be required at time of employment for degrees/course work used to qualify for this position.

Responsibilities

• Plans and prepares training curriculums and conducts classroom instruction for behavioral health clients in basic living and social skills.
• Assists skills trainers in the proper techniques of caring for and instructing behavioral health clients.
• Establishes objectives for individuals and groups of clients.
• Prepares lesson plans and materials for classroom use.
• Assists assigned staff in developing new programs for clients.
• Explains objectives and guidelines of the training center to the community.
• Performs various administrative duties as required.
• Maintains and prepares various reports and records.
