Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Nurse Aide to join the Aurora Psychiatric Hospital - Behavioral Health O/P unit. This full-time role involves a 30-hour work week with shifts including evenings and weekends as detailed in the schedule.

You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor patients, document observations, and respond to crises under RN direction. BLS and state registry eligibility are required, along with CPI crisis intervention training within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Nurse Aide in good standing with the State Registry.
• BLS certification for Healthcare Providers (American Heart Association).
• Completion of CPI's Nonviolent Crisis Intervention within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist, monitor, and maintain activities of daily living for patients.
• Orient patients and families to unit and hospital procedures.
• Perform vital signs and document observations in medical records.
• Defuse and report crises, intervening when appropriate and following safety policies.
• Conduct patient rounding and maintain a safe therapeutic environment.
