Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred; high school diploma may qualify with relevant experience.
• Certification as a Behavioral Health Technician (CBHT) required within policy timeframe or degree substitution.
• With an Associate’s degree, minimum 1-year paid experience in behavioral health care; with a high school diploma, 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accurate accounting of all controlled medications and completes proper medication records.
• Distributes medications to clients and reports observed problems to supervisor.
• Provides guidance for daily living skills and facilitates activities like laundry, cooking, hygiene.
• Performs housekeeping tasks and maintains living quarters cleanliness.
• Designs, implements and maintains behavioral programs; conducts counseling sessions.
• Records client behavior and events in logs and reports for staff review.
• Maintains client-related documentation and participates in planning meetings and ITMs.
• Responds to crisis situations using verbal or physical intervention as appropriate.
• Communicates with outside agencies, family members and staff regarding client welfare.
• Attends required trainings and adheres to compliance standards.
