Job summary

Centurion Health seeks a Behavioral Health Technician for the Pontiac Correctional Facility in Pontiac, IL. The role supports mental health care in a correctional setting, conducts activities programming and education, and participates in treatment planning meetings.

Responsibilities include crisis management, group activities, data management, and telepsychiatry support. A Bachelor’s degree in social science and CPR/AED certification are required; background checks apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Social Science.
• Two years or more experience providing activities programming for patients who have a serious mental illness preferred.
• Competencies with Excel sufficient to create, maintain, and update scheduling databases.
• Must maintain current tuberculosis documentation and active CPR/AED certification.
• Must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic support services, including treatment-focused programming, psychosocial groups, crisis management, social rehabilitation, and leisure activities.
• Provide formal education to patients in daily living activities (hygiene, eating, recreation, etc.).
• Assist in preparation and maintenance of records and data management for mental health treatment and patient scheduling; support telepsychiatry operations.

Centurion is proud to be the provider of comprehensive healthcare services to the Illinois Department of Corrections.

We are currently seeking a full-time Behavioral Health Technician to join our team at the Pontiac Correctional Facility located in Pontiac, IL.

The Behavioral Health Technician participates in weekly multidisciplinary treatment planning meetings and implements interventions for patients in a correctional mental health/healthcare setting. Behavioral Health Technician responsibilities include providing therapeutic support services, including treatment focused programming, psychosocial groups, crisis management, social rehabilitation, and leisure activities, as well as providing formal education to patients in routine activities of daily living (hygiene, eating, recreation, etc.). Behavioral Health Technicians, also assist in the preparation and maintenance of records and data management pertaining to the mental health treatment and scheduling of patients. This includes providing support for the operation of telepsychiatry services. Performs all duties as assigned by leadership and as directed by Centurion policy and procedure, as well as IDOC Directives, and Standard Operating Procedures.

Schedule

Tuesday through Saturday; 8:00am to 4:00pm
