Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Social Science.
• Two years or more experience providing activities programming for patients who have a serious mental illness preferred.
• Competencies with Excel sufficient to create, maintain, and update scheduling databases.
• Must maintain current tuberculosis documentation and active CPR/AED certification.
• Must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Participates in weekly multidisciplinary treatment planning meetings and implements interventions for patients.
• Provides therapeutic support services, including programming, psychosocial groups, crisis management, and leisure activities.
• Assists in preparation and maintenance of records and data management.
• Provides support for operation of telepsychiatry services.

We are currently seeking a full-time Behavioral Health Technician to join our team at the Taylorville Correctional Center located in Taylorville, IL.

Position Details

Job Location: Taylorville Correctional Center - Taylorville, IL 62568

Position Type: Full-Time

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree

Schedule: Monday through Friday 8am-4pm

Salary: $26.00 to $27.07 Hourly Depending on Experience / Plus Shift Differential

Responsibilities

• Participates in weekly multidisciplinary treatment planning meetings and implements interventions for patients in a correctional mental health/healthcare setting.
• Provides therapeutic support services, including treatment focused programming, psychosocial groups, crisis management, social rehabilitation, and leisure activities.
• Provides formal education to patients in routine activities of daily living (hygiene, eating, recreation, etc.).
• Assists in the preparation and maintenance of records and data management pertaining to the mental health treatment and scheduling of patients.
• Provides support for the operation of telepsychiatry services.
• Performs all duties as assigned by leadership and as directed by Centurion policy and procedure, as well as IDOC Directives, and Standard Operating Procedures.
