Job summary

Centurion Health seeks a Behavioral Health Technician at Pontiac Correctional Facility in Pontiac, IL for the evening shift. The role provides therapeutic support, leads psychosocial groups, crisis management, and leisure activities within a correctional mental health setting.

Responsibilities include record keeping, data management, and support for telepsychiatry services. A Social Science degree and CPR/AED certification are required, with background clearance as applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a Social Science required.
• Two years or more experience providing activities programming for patients with serious mental illness preferred.
• Competencies with Excel to create, maintain, and update scheduling databases.
• Must maintain current tuberculosis documentation and active CPR/AED certification.
• Must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable.

We are currently seeking a full-time Behavioral Health Technician to join our team at the Pontiac Correctional Facility located in Pontiac, IL.

The Behavioral Health Technician participates in weekly multidisciplinary treatment planning meetings and implements interventions for patients in a correctional mental health/healthcare setting. Behavioral Health Technician responsibilities include providing therapeutic support services, including treatment focused programming, psychosocial groups, crisis management, social rehabilitation, and leisure activities, as well as providing formal education to patients in routine activities of daily living (hygiene, eating, recreation, etc.). Behavioral Health Technicians, also assist in the preparation and maintenance of records and data management pertaining to the mental health treatment and scheduling of patients. This includes providing support for the operation of telepsychiatry services. Performs all duties as assigned by leadership and as directed by Centurion policy and procedure, as well as IDOC Directives, and Standard Operating Procedures.

Schedule:

Sunday through Thursday; 12:00pm to 8:00pm
