Job summary

Centurion Health at Pontiac Correctional Facility in Pontiac, IL is seeking a full-time Behavioral Health Technician to support psychiatric and behavioral health services in a correctional setting. The role involves multidisciplinary treatment planning and therapeutic activities.

Responsibilities include crisis management, psychosocial groups, and data management for mental health treatment, with telepsychiatry support as needed. Schedule: Tue–Sat, 12:00 PM–8:00 PM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Social Science required.
• Two years or more experience providing activities programming for patients who have a serious mental illness preferred.
• Competencies with Excel sufficient to create, maintain, and update scheduling databases.
• Must maintain current tuberculosis documentation and active CPR/AED certification.
• Must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable.

• Provide therapeutic support services and treatment-focused programming.
• Lead psychosocial groups, crisis management, social rehabilitation, and leisure activities.
• Provide formal education to patients in daily living activities.

We are currently seeking a full-time Behavioral Health Technician to join our team at the Pontiac Correctional Facility located in Pontiac, IL.

The Behavioral Health Technician participates in weekly multidisciplinary treatment planning meetings and implements interventions for patients in a correctional mental health/healthcare setting. Behavioral Health Technician responsibilities include providing therapeutic support services, including treatment focused programming, psychosocial groups, crisis management, social rehabilitation, and leisure activities, as well as providing formal education to patients in routine activities of daily living (hygiene, eating, recreation, etc.). Behavioral Health Technicians also assist in the preparation and maintenance of records and data management pertaining to the mental health treatment and scheduling of patients. This includes providing support for the operation of telepsychiatry services. Performs all duties as assigned by leadership and as directed by Centurion policy and procedure, as well as IDOC Directives, and Standard Operating Procedures.

Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday; 12:00pm to 8:00pm
