Job summary

The Wood Group in Tyler, TX is seeking a part-time Behavioral Health Technician to join our mental health team. This role focuses on compassionate, respectful care and a supportive environment for residents.

Weekend shifts are available: Saturday and Sunday, day or overnight. You will contribute to safety, medication supervision, and daily documentation while following facility policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; behavioral health training a plus.
• Experience in mental health or social services preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to stay calm and professional in challenging situations.
• Compassionate, patient, empathetic attitude.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Basic knowledge of behavioral health principles.
• Flexibility to work part-time, weekends required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and well-being of residents at all times.
• Cook and serve meals following posted menu.
• Complete items on the facility Chore Sheet as directed.
• Ensure residents treated with dignity and respect.
• Supervise medication procedures; ensure proper timing and narcotics counted and documented.
• Daily chart documentation.
• Familiarity with The Wood Group’s policy and procedures including employee handbook.

Behavioral Health Technician (Part-Time)

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Part-Time Behavioral Health Technician to join our mental health team. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals receiving behavioral health services. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing supportive care in a respectful and professional manner, contributing to a positive and healing environment.

Weekend position available:

• Saturday & Sunday - Day shift (8am to 8pm)
• Saturday & Sunday - Overnight shift (8pm to 8am)

Below are a few job duties to expect as a Behavioral Health Tech:

• Ensure the safety and well-being of all residents at all times.
• Cook and serve meals. Follow the facility menu as posted.
• Responsible for completing items listed on the facility Chore Sheet as directed by the administrator.
• Responsible for assuring all residents are treated with dignity and respect.
• Responsible for the supervision of all resident medication procedures. Ensure that all residents receive their proper medication at the proper time. All narcotics will be counted and documented on each shift.
• Daily chart documentation
• Be familiar with The Wood Group’s policy and procedures to include employee handbook.

Requirements

• - High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in behavioral health is a plus
• - Previous experience in mental health, social services, or related fields preferred
