Job summary

Centurion Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician at the Sheridan Correctional Center in Sheridan, IL to support mental health treatment in a correctional setting. You will participate in weekly multidisciplinary treatment planning meetings, implement interventions, provide psychosocial groups, crisis management, and education on daily living activities, while assisting with records and telepsychiatry operations.

Monday through Friday, 8am–4pm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Social Science is required.
• Two years or more experience providing activities programming for patients with serious mental illness preferred.
• Competency with Excel to create, maintain, and update scheduling databases.
• Must maintain tuberculosis documentation and CPR/AED certification.
• Must pass a background check and obtain agency security clearance where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Participates in weekly multidisciplinary treatment planning meetings and implements interventions for patients in a correctional mental health setting.
• Provides therapeutic support services, including treatment focused programming, psychosocial groups, crisis management, social rehabilitation, and leisure activities.
• Provides formal education to patients in routine activities of daily living (hygiene, eating, recreation, etc.).
• Assists in the preparation and maintenance of records and data management pertaining to the mental health treatment and scheduling of patients; supports telepsychiatry services.
