Job description

We Are Hiring
  • Department: Behavioral Health
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm; rotating weekends and holidays
  • Hospital: Ascension Saint Joseph
  • Location: Chicago, IL
  • Salary: $19.34 - $29.22 per hour
What You Will Do

Provide direct behavioral health patient care by:

  1. Assisting patients with activities of daily living.
  2. Providing or assisting with diagnostic procedures and therapeutic interventions.
  3. Observing and recording patient behavior and activities.
  4. Reporting changes in patient condition and suggesting modifications to the treatment plan.
  5. Establishing therapeutic relationships with assigned patients.
What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire or transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Certification in Crisis Prevention from the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) preferred.
  • Nurse Aide credential from the Illinois Department of Public Health preferred.

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of experience, OR
  • Associate's degree/Technical degree, OR
  • 4 years of relevant experience.
