Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, the Behavioral Health Technician provides direct patient care, maintains a safe environment, and communicates effectively with the treatment team to ensure quality care.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Carry out patient care and other assignments as directed.
2. Observe patients and communicate needs to the Charge Nurse/RN.
3. Monitor patient behavior and participate in treatment plans.
4. Respond to patient requests and report changes in condition.
5. Intervene in behavioral crises using approved methods.
6. Assist with activities of daily living and patient education.
7. Facilitate educational and activity groups as assigned.
8. Ensure infection control protocols are followed.

Shift Support

1. Review shift assignments and communicate effectively.
2. Maintain a therapeutic and safe environment.
3. Ensure all patient belongings are accounted for upon discharge.
4. Perform safety rounds and report hazards.
5. Comply with safety standards and report issues.

Customer Interaction

• Interact professionally with patients, families, and staff.
• Collaborate with the treatment team to support patient care.
• Respect patient dignity and safety.

Documentation

• Complete timely, thorough, and accurate medical records and reports.

Qualifications
