Job summary

Discovery Behavioral Health in Orange, CA is seeking a Behavioral Health Tech III to support patients from admission through discharge. You will assist with safety, provide interventions, and help with daily groups and treatment planning.

This role requires strong customer service, the ability to work with diverse populations, and collaboration with nursing and clinical teams. A driver's license is required; CPI/CPR/First Aid certifications must be obtained within stated timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• High School Diploma preferred.
• Two+ years experience in mental health, substance use or eating disorder field required.
• Valid and unrestricted State Driver's License.
• Must obtain CPI certification within 90 days of hire, training provided.
• Must obtain CPR, AED, First Aid and Food Handling/Safety certifications within 30 days of hire, training provided.
• Substance Use Division: Minimum 1 year sobriety if in recovery.
• Eating Disorder Division: Minimum 1 year recovery from eating disorder if in recovery.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to all DBH policies and procedures.
• Maintains patient safety and confidentiality of information.
• Provides exceptional customer service to patients.
• Leads psychoeducational groups and assists with treatment planning.
• Assists nursing staff with duties as directed, including vitals and patient supervision.
• Maintains logs and documents shift notes and group notes by shift end.
• Provides transportation services for patients when pre-qualified to drive a company vehicle.
• Supports admission and discharge processes and helps patients acclimate to the program.
• Monitors patient activity and reports significant issues to clinical staff.
