Job summary

Universal Hospital Services Inc. is seeking a Behavioral Counseling Technician (BCT) for a contract position paid at $25.00 per hour.

This temporary role has the possibility to become full-time with benefits and requires experience in behavioral health or related fields, with preference for candidates who have worked with children. • High School Diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous patient care, supervision, interaction and role modeling to patients.
• Work under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Interact with patients ranging from preschool through adolescent, depending on unit assignment.

Qualifications

The Behavioral Counseling Technician (BCT) functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging in age from preschool through adolescent depending on which unit worked. Behavioral Counseling Technicians work under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Education: High School Diploma

Experience: Experience in behavioral health or related field required. Experience with children preferred.

Licensure: Must maintain a valid driver's license in the applicable state.

Additional Requirements: CPR Certification and successful completion of Crisis Intervention Training (CPI) including appropriate use of Seclusion and Restraint immediately followingemployment and prior to performing patient care.
