Job summary

Pressley Ridge in Johnstown, PA is seeking a Behavioral Health Specialist for our Day School program. The role focuses on collaborating with the classroom team to develop, implement, and monitor effective academic and behavioral programming for students.

You will work with the Special Education Teacher on IEPs, create SSPs, implement SEL curricula, and help maintain safety and data-driven progress. The position offers the chance to contribute to a supportive school community and advance

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, education or related childcare field.
• ASL proficiency within two years of employment for the School for the Deaf.
• Valid state driver’s license, safe driving record and current vehicle insurance.
• Experience in behavior management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Special Education Teacher to implement and review IEPs.
• Supports students in content areas via individual, group, and experiential interactions.
• Develop and implement SSP in collaboration with the classroom team.
• Create daily group and individualized lesson plans utilizing SEL curriculum.
• Develop and implement a classroom/behavioral management system with the team.
• Review SSP quarterly and provide progress updates.
• Provide weekly behavioral data and progress notes to the team.
