Job summary

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education is seeking a Behavior Specialist to support a school-wide PBS program in a special education setting. The role focuses on proactive strategies to improve positive behaviors and relies on data-driven progress within a collaborative IEP team.

The candidate will implement individual and system-wide interventions, document behavior plans, and assist staff with classroom management while de-escalating crises as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate degree or higher preferred.
• RBT credential preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement targeted interventions to enhance academic, social-emotional, behavioral, and independent outcomes.
• Reinforce positive behavior and model effective strategies for staff.
• Maintain records related to SBS and BIPs.
• Collect and chart behavioral data to monitor progress and inform instruction.
• Provide guidance to classroom staff on behavior management systems.
• De-escalate crises using CPI strategies and ensure safety.
