Job summary

The role supervises nursing on an assigned shift, ensuring standards and regulatory compliance while delivering high-quality patient care and guiding staff in the absence of management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required; master's is preferred.
• Active Registered Nurse license from the State of Connecticut is required.
• Three years of acute care charge or supervisory experience required, with at least one year in a psychiatric setting preferred.
• Progressive leadership experience is required.
• BLS certification is required; ACLS certification is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ensure a safe, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the point person in collaboration with the CLC for admissions and transfers.
• Facilitates and decides on placement of admissions and transfers.
• Contributes to efficient unit operation by setting priorities and removing impediments.
• Ensures the voice of the patient is central in decisions.
• Models teamwork and collaboration within and outside the department.
