Job summary

The Hospitals of Providence in El Paso, TX seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for a Psychiatric role. The position focuses on direct clinical care, supervision of staff, and ensuring high-quality nursing practice in the psychiatric unit.

Education: graduate of an accredited nursing program; a BSN is preferred. Licensure as an RN in Texas is required, with BLS certification and possible ACLS/PALS/NRP per policy. Prior acute care is preferred; this is a full-time day shift opportunity.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current license to practice nursing in Texas is required.
• AHA BLS is required; ACLS and/or PALS and/or NRP may be required by policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, safe, cost-effective nursing care to all patients.
• Coordinate and integrate patient care using the nursing process.
• Direct care per safety, risk management, QA, and Infection Control standards to optimize patient outcomes.
• Coordinate and plan patient care within the prescribed medical regime.
• Administer medications safely and timely per hospital policy.
• Fulfill all HICS responsibilities during emergencies or disasters.
• Know and follow hospital emergency codes and policies.
