Job summary

Hartford HealthCare's St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for behavioral health. You will provide direct patient care, conduct initial assessments, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to implement and adjust nursing care plans.

The role requires CT RN licensure, BLS certification, and preferred acute psychiatric care experience. Night shifts (7pm–7:30am) with every other weekend and holiday coverage offered.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Connecticut Department of Public Health.
• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 60 days of hire.
• Associate's Degree is required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Experience in acute care psychiatric settings is preferred.
• Evidence of leadership ability; MOAB training is preferred to manage challenging patients.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care to behavioral health patients according to facility policies.
• Performs bio-psychosocial assessments and develops a nursing plan of care.
• Participates in treatment team conferences to plan and revise goals.
• Implements nursing care and co-leads group therapy sessions.
• Evaluates patient responses and revises care plans with the team.
• Identifies patient needs to provide individualized care.
• Documents comprehensive nursing plans and patient status in medical records.
• Delegates care tasks to nursing staff as appropriate to patient needs.
• Demonstrates skills to interact with the interdisciplinary team to achieve outcomes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
