Job summary

Hartford HealthCare's St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT, seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Med Neuro unit to deliver direct, compassionate nursing care in accordance with established policies and protocols.

You will implement and monitor care plans, coordinate interdisciplinary rounds, discharge planning, and ensure timely documentation while maintaining patient safety on night shifts (a mix of 12- and 8-hour shifts with rotating weekends and holidays).

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Current Connecticut RN license.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
• Associate degree required; BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements and monitors patient care plans.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient’s discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to assess patients’ needs.
• Delegates aspects of care to other nursing personnel.
• Participates in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds.
• Develops, implements, and revises individualized plans of care.
• Participates in activities for professional growth and development outside of patient care.
