St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, now part of Hartford HealthCare, seeks a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care on a rotating day/night schedule. The role includes collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and ensuring safe, effective care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Associate degree required; BSN preferred.
• Acute care experience highly preferred.
• Current Connecticut RN license.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
• Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Must be able to commute to Bridgeport, CT.

Responsibilities

• Implements and monitors patient care plans; documents patient condition.
• Serves as primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
• Identifies patient needs to provide individualized care.
• Delegates care to nursing personnel to maximize staff performance.
• Participates in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds.
• Follows ANA standards and ethics in care delivery.
• Develops and revises individualized plans of care.
• Participates in activities for professional growth outside patient care.
• Other duties as assigned.
