Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System, part of Universal Health Services, seeks an experienced Behavioral Health RN to provide safe, competent nursing care and leadership within the healthcare team. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, safety, and adherence to facility standards.

Ideal candidates will graduate from an accredited RN program, hold a Texas RN license, and maintain BLS certification. De-escalation training within 90 days is required to support a high-quality care environment.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
  • Current Texas RN license or permit to practice nursing.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (upon hire or within 30 days).
  • De-escalation training within 90 days of hire.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and safety standards.
  • Ability to read and write in English; strong communication with patients and teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and evaluates an age-appropriate plan of care using nursing process.
  • Maintains professional behavior when addressing issues or conflicts.
  • Provides a safe environment for patients, families, visitors, and staff.
  • Assesses patient safety risks and applies precautions.
  • Adheres to facility and accrediting standards and safety protocols.
  • Demonstrates patient-centered care delivery model.
