Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
• Must pass pre-employment assessments.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association on hire or within 30 days.
• Current state nursing license or permit to practice in Texas.
• De-escalation training within 90 days of hire.
• Ongoing demonstration of clinically pertinent competencies as determined by the facility.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and evaluates an age-appropriate plan of care using the nursing process and patient education.
• Maintains professional behavior when addressing issues or conflicts, using appropriate resources.
• Ensures a safe environment for patients, families, visitors and staff.
• Assesses risks to patient safety and implements precautions.
• Complies with standards outlined by the organization and accrediting agencies.
• Adheres to safety and injury prevention standards within the patient-centered care model.
