Job summary

Maple Heights Behavioral Health in Fort Wayne, Indiana is seeking a Registered Nurse for a PRN position. This inpatient hospital offers care to adolescents, adults and seniors with mental health needs. Hours cover days, nights and weekends; full orientation is required.

As an RN, you will provide and coordinate care, develop nursing plans, educate patients and families, and ensure accurate documentation and medication administration in accordance with policy.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license required by state of employment or eligibility.
• One year of nursing experience; psychiatric/behavioral health or substance use experience a plus.
• CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical and behavioral health needs and coordinate care.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Maintain medical records and educate patients and families about conditions.
• Administer medications per orders and document controlled substances.
• Complete admission and discharge processing accurately.
• Communicate therapeutically with patients, families, and staff.
