Job summary
Acadia Healthcare in Saint Paul is seeking a Registered Nurse to support behavioral health units with direct patient care, assessments, and care planning. The role includes documenting medical records, coordinating with the treatment team, and ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.
Typical shifts are days and nights (7:00a–7:00p / 7:00p–7:00a) with a competitive hourly rate and shift differentials.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current RN license in the state of employment or eligible to practice.
- One year of nursing experience; psychiatric/behavioral or substance use nursing is a plus.
- CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification is required.
- First aid may be required per state or facility requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ physical and behavioral health needs and provide care.
- Develop and implement nursing care plans.
- Maintain medical records and educate patients and families.
- Provide care within nursing standards and facility policies.
- Ensure legibility of physicians’ orders and proper transcription.
- Monitor patient status and document changes promptly.
- Notify physicians of significant changes in status.
- Complete admission and discharge processing efficiently.
- Maintain therapeutic rapport and professional boundaries with patients.
- Coordinate unit activities and communicate professionally with staff.
