Job summary

Adventist HealthCare’s Shady Grove Medical Center Behavioral Health unit is hiring an experienced Registered Nurse. This per diem role focuses on patient-centered care, safety, and teamwork in a behavioral health setting.

The RN will develop care plans, monitor patient changes, mentor colleagues, and participate in quality improvement activities while adhering to ANA and AHC documentation standards.

Qualifications

• Current Maryland State nursing license.
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by specialty area.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Passing NCLEX.
• Experience: 1 to 3 years (qualified to sit for specialty certifications).

Responsibilities

• Develops a plan of care according to patient population.
• Identifies impending changes in patient condition and initiates corrective action.
• Mentors students, colleagues and team members in patient-centered care.
• Conducts purposeful rounds from patient and family perspective.
• Participates in evidence-based practice and quality initiatives.
• Engages in interdisciplinary care and team building.
