Job summary

UnityPoint Health in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a registered nurse for the Behavioral Health units. Schedule: Day/Evening with every 4th weekend; 0.9 FTE; $10,000 sign-on bonus and differential pay options are available.

You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care through a multidisciplinary approach for patients of all ages in a secure, locked unit. The St. Luke’s CARE model underpins compassionate, evidence-based care delivery.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program
• Possess current RN licensure in the State of Iowa or a compact state
• Current BCLS
• Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English
• Multicultural sensitivity
• Demonstrates proficiency in nursing procedures and medication administration
• EMR training or in-hospital EMR familiarity

Responsibilities

• Assumes primary responsibility for the plan of care for a patient or group of patients per unit standards.
• Effectively delegates tasks and collaborates with the health care team.
• Performs admission assessments including patient history, physical, and psycho-social assessment.
• Develops and implements a mutually established plan of care with patient and family.
• Administers medications and nursing treatments within scope of practice.
• Provides care on behavioral health units with a multidisciplinary approach.
