Job summary

Rescue Mission of Trenton seeks an experienced Director of Behavioral Health Operations to provide strategic oversight of behavioral health programs. You will partner with senior leaders to align services with the mission, drive continuous improvement, and ensure safe, recovery-focused environments.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, monitor performance metrics, and advance regulatory readiness while fostering a culture of dignity, respect, and client-centered care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Health, Human Services, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Public Administration, or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Progressive leadership experience in behavioral health, residential services, healthcare, or 24-hour operating environments.
• Experience leading managers, supervisors, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven ability to improve operations, develop leaders, strengthen culture, and implement organizational change.
• Knowledge of recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and person-centered services.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic operational leadership for Behavioral Health programs, ensuring daily operations support organizational priorities, treatment philosophy, and client outcomes.
• Partner with the Chief Behavioral Health Officer and Director of Behavioral Health (Clinical) to implement program goals, strengthen services, and support continuous improvement.
• Monitor KPIs related to staffing, attendance, overtime, incidents, client satisfaction, engagement, environmental standards, and operational performance.
• Ensure residential operations support a safe, respectful, therapeutic environment that promotes dignity and recovery.
• Support regulatory readiness and compliance with organizational policies, licensing requirements, CARF standards, and contractual obligations.
