Job summary

San Ysidro Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support Behavioral Health Providers in a clinic setting. You will assist with examinations, treatments, and procedures, while handling administrative tasks such as scheduling and data entry.

The role requires basic MA training per CA requirements, CPR/BLS certification, and at least 1 year of MA experience. Bilingual skills (English plus Spanish, Tagalog, or Arabic) are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and completion of Medical Assistant program per CA Medical Board requirements.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR/CPR-AED.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a medical assistant.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish, Tagalog, or Arabic preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Behavioral Health Providers with examinations, treatments and procedures.
• Perform clerical duties: data entry, screening, calls, scheduling.
• Conduct screenings (PHQ9, GAD7, DAST, AUDIT) and coordinate recalls to close care gaps.
• Prepare treatment rooms and ensure aseptic technique and infection control.
• Document patient information in EHR and maintain confidentiality.
• Provide medication reconciliation and assist with referrals and follow-ups.
